Hebrews 3:7-11 | in case i forget

Hebrews 3:7–11

Life has a way of drawing our attention toward what hurts, what feels unfair, and what we wish were different, but what happens when our circumstances become so consuming that we begin to forget the faithfulness of God?

In this episode, we continue our study of Hebrews with a difficult but important passage: Hebrews 3:7–11. Looking at the Israelites’ experience in the wilderness, we explore the warning against hardening our hearts and the importance of remembering what God has already revealed about Himself.

There is a difference between bringing our questions and uncertainties to God and refusing to acknowledge His faithfulness. God can handle our questions, but we must be careful not to let the cares of life turn our hearts away from Him.

As I share some of my own reflections on walking through a difficult season, I’m reminded that God is concerned with shaping our character, not simply making us comfortable. Even when we feel the pruning, we can ask Him to help us recognize what He is doing rather than becoming consumed by what hurts.

The reminder is simple, but not always easy: Do not allow your circumstances to cause you to forget God’s goodness and faithfulness.
